Summer Colors, Incorporated is a full service, family owned and operated tanning salon located in Marietta, Georgia doing business as Tropical Tan. The salon opened in December 1992 with 12 tanning units immediately expanding to 18 the following year and once again to 23 in the winter of 1997, and finally to 25 beds in January of 2001. An airbrush tanning service was added in the summer of 2003. Tropical Tan offers swimwear, diet and herbal supplements, over 100 in-stock tanning lotions, and skin care products but tanning is our specialty. New and used tanning beds are available for home use with 100% financing available. We are members of the International Smart Tan Network and have received the Wolff System First Class Tanning Salon award every year since 1994.

Tropical Tan offers memberships with or without maintenance fees, package sessions, and student and family discounts.

All of our tanning units, with the exception of two, are German engineered using a wrap around tunnel design so that the bed can be completely closed. Unlike most beds other tanning salons offer, this tunnel design allows you to tan more evenly without moving or turning during your tanning session. We use high quality lamps in each tanning unit that provide larger levels of phosphorous to help prevent burning. A tan from such a lamp is more durable and will last much longer.

At Tropical Tan, we know a clients perception is greatly affected by the cleanliness and neatness of our establishment, therefore our trained staff gives extra attention to cleaning each room before the next client tans. We thoroughly clean each bed not only because our client’s health and well-being are of the utmost importance, but a properly cleaned bed will tan with superior results.

The quality of our client’s tan also depends on the regular replacement of the lamps in each bed. Each tanning unit in our salon is re-lamped 300-500 hours less than the manufacturers recommendation allowing the client to see results from each session.

All 26 of our rooms are clean, private and spacious. Towels, eye wear, and sound system are provided in each room. We are a computerized salon so the client is in control over his/her own tanning session.
